An amphibious aircraft is one that can takeoff and land on both water and land. Viking’s Twin Otter aircraft have the option of being outfitted with amphibious floats that allow it to land on both land and water without having to switch out landing gear between flights.
The Series 400 Twin Otter has five different landing gear configurations: standard wheels, intermediate floatation gear (often called a tundra tire), amphibious floats, straight floats, and wheel skis.
Building on its decades of experience, Viking is already providing Maintenance+ for operators worldwide. This program offers complete “peace of mind” maintenance and technical support for operators in a comprehensive, simple to administrate package with no financial surprises.
