AIRCRAFT ASSEMBLERS/STRUCTURE TECHNICIANS

Postion: Aircraft Assemblers/ Structure Technicians  

Department: Manufacturing 

Location: Victoria Airport, BC 

Responsibilities: 

  • A demonstrated ability/proficiency and knowledge of the following:

    • Capable of meeting all DOT, Viking Air and customer quality requirements
    • Able to assist in training, directing and supervising of junior employees
    • Able to work safely and efficiently with minimum supervision
    • Repair, assembly and fabricate parts and components from drawings, Engineering Masters, process sheets and repair manuals
    • A knowledge of all phases of manufacturing or repair, including but not limited to cutting ,shearing, pin-routing, NC routing, CNC programming, deburring, forming, hydro-forming, hand working, heat treating, plating, welding, spot-welding, tooling, jig manufacture, and touch up painting
    • Maintain a clean work area, and alerting their Supervisor of any safety concerns
    • Be responsible to their assigned Charge Hand
    • Any other duties assigned

     

    Qualifications: 
    • Level 1
      • Able to carry out items 1-9
      • All prior lower level requirements
      • Restricted to AME (S) or unrestricted CAMC or ITAC Structural Technician
    • Level 2
      • Able to carry out items 1-9
      • Able to troubleshoot and problem solve
      • All prior lower level requirements
    • Level 3
      • Able to carry out items 1 -3, 5-9
      • All prior lower level requirements
      • Completion of a Transport Canada License AME (S) or ITAC or a restricted CAMC or an unrestricted CAMC
    • Apprentice
      • Enrolled in ITAC or CAMC or registered with Transport Canada as an AME (S)
