Summary of Functions:
Develop detailed quality inspection plans and acceptance test procedures. Liaise between manufacturing and engineering as a member of the MRB. Provide mentorship to quality inspectors.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains portions of the Quality Management System pertaining to quality control.
- Develops and maintains quality inspection plans and standard work documents for large or complex assemblies and parts.
- Develops and maintains acceptance test procedures for mechanical components.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of final test procedures for aircraft acceptance.
- Develops Nonconformance Reports (NCR) and liaises with engineering on the Matrial Review Board (MRB).
- Performs and coaches others in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Publishes metrics for the quality control department.
- Provides mentorship and coaching to quality control inspectors.
Organizational Relationships:
Reports to the Chief Inspector. Sits on the Material Review Board (MRB) and works with engineering in that role. Mentors Quality Control Inspectors.
Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
- B.Sc. or equivalent in an engineering discipline is preferred.
- Professional Engineering license preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in aerospace quality control/assurance with progressively increasing levels of responsibility and demonstrated leadership roles.
- Previous MRB experience strongly preferred
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
