Summary of Functions:
The Environmental and Facilities Manager is the focal for developing and monitoring Environmental programs within the Company while directing and coordinating the activities of the Facilities Maintenance Department, ensuring optimum use and oversight of all facilities and equipment.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Environmental
- Leads the planning, implementation, coordination and auditing of Company Policy on environmental programs.
- Ensures all Regional, Provincial and Federal environmental standards and regulations are adhered to.
- Oversees all HAZMAT programs including waste water and other HAZMAT disposal programs.
- Leads company programs on the 3R’s - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
- Ensures Company and Departmental Goals and Objectives are met.
Facilities Maintenance
- Organizes and directs the Facilities Maintenance Department to ensure efficient and timely use of personnel and resources while repairing and maintaining buildings, grounds, systems, equipment, electrical, plumbing, etc.
- Plans, implements and coordinates a Total Productive Maintenance program within the Company.
- Manages contractors and service providers who complete facilities and equipment related projects and repairs.
- Maintains relations with all facility and environmental specific regulatory bodies i.e. CRD, VAA, Environment Canada, etc.
- Ensures the security of all buildings and contents.
Is the “On Call” person in the case of emergencies.
- Ensures Company and Departmental Goals and Objectives are met for the Facilities Maintenance Department.
Organizational Relationships:
The Environmental and Facilities Manager is a key member of the management team who works closely with all Managers, Supervisors, and Personnel.
Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
- 5 year minimum experience as an Environmental Management professional.
- 5 years minimum experience in the Maintenance or Facilities Management field.
